Do you miss REAL KNOBS and DIALS?

.

I miss real knobs and dials with nice smooth feelings on SW radios and stereo gear.  Not that I ever have any time to listen to FM or shortwave radio much anyway, but the lack of a hardware console has always frustrated me with the ICOM PCR1000 SW receiver and PC based audio recorders.  I love silky smooth tuning knobs as found on 1970’s era gear such as the Tascam 122MKIII cassette deck and Kenwood KT-8300 stereo tuner. High quality metal knobs with smooth as butter response.  And the soft glow from the dial lights. Aaaaah.  Sadly, the old Zenith Trans Oceanic radios didn’t have smooth, weighted dials.  Perhaps it’s time to get a Yaesu FRG-7700? Yea, I know it’s a digital radio so it’s still not the same feeling.
