Synth Amp

SynthAmp

The Synth Amp project was a specific request from a client. We were asked to design and build a battery powered, lightweight single system to house a small amplifier, speaker, and two rack synthesizers. In other words, this is a small keyboard amp built into a custom case to include a gel-cell battery and two music synthesizers. This particular client is a wind synth (wind controller) player, using the rig for pit orchestra and street performances while playing the WX5 and VL70 music synthesizer. The second SynthAmp Back synthesizer space was built with a removable fascia to allow racking a second synth, or hold an iPod. The entire system can run from the 12V gel-cell, or plug into an normal AC wall outlet. A switch built into the unit determines if the rig is powered from AC or via battery.
